Very fine early production Harpers Ferry US model 1855 3-band rifle musket. .58 caliber Maynard percussion system US rifle musket. Very fine condition overall. Top of barrel breech dated 1859 and rear of lockplate dated 1858. Barrel metal has been kept in the "white". V P and eagle proof visible on left side of breech. Long range rear sight. Brass nose cap. Very sharp markings. Maynard priming system works perfectly. The bore is very good with bright clear rifling. Fine full length walnut stock. Two clear distinct cartouches are visible on left flat. Complete with both original sling swivels and original ramrod. Barrel bands stamped with 'U', and buttplate with 'US". Far above average, a very early and desirable Harpers Ferry sought after firearm.
