Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver in very good condition overall. U.S. government issue, sub inspector's initials overall on metal components. Serial #106872 matching, including wedge, 1863 manufacture. This gun is only 438 serial #'s away from my other fine+ Colt Army listing, see item #FR480, serial #106434. Barrel retains approximately .25% original blue mostly on the underside, rammer with about .70%. Traces of blue in protected areas, rebate of cylinder and top of gripstrap. Cylinder scene rates about .85%+. Fading case colors on frame rate .20%. Rest of the metal is a smooth grey-blue mixing with age brown patina overall, untouched. The .44 cal bore is bright with crisp rifling. All markings are crisp. Mechanics are tight. Original 2-piece wood grips have smooth age-handling look, two crisp cartouches. Colt's patent marking on left side of frame. Iron backstrap, untouched brass triggerguard, cut for shoulder stock. A classic U.S. Civil War sidearm.
Far above average as any Civil War era Colt Army revolver with finish are getting harder and harder to obtain.
