Civil War money belt. Used to secret away currency and valuables, this belt was used by soldier's and gamblers in the mid-1800's. Constructed of chamois with green wool trim and red Moroccan leather buttonhole trim. 6 white glass buttons. The belt features a vest buckle dated 1855. Overall condition is still very good for the age, tight stitching, the cotton strips which holds the belt together at the center are somewhat frail.
