Exceptional Civil War officer's stencil. Constructed of sheet brass, 2" X 2.5". Excellent condition overall. Fancy boarder, adorned with stars. "CAPT. JNO M LANDON / CO. I. 30TH REG. / N.Y. S.V. TROY. / N.Y.". Captain John M Landon was commissioned into Company "I", 30th New York Infantry on 06/01/1861, he mustered out 06/18/1863. Captain Landon would have seen action at Groveton, Bull Run, South Mountain, Antietam, Fredericksburg and Chancellorsville. Some paperwork on Captain Landon and the 30th New York accompany. Quality Civil War officer's stencils are difficult to obtain.
