Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver in the 5th Ohio Cavalry & 2nd West Virginia Cavalry serial # range match. U.S. government issue, inspector's initials "P" on the cylinder, "F" just behind triggerguard & at top of back grip strap. Serial #68234 matching, 1862 manufacture, unnumbered wedge. .44 cal bore is good, mechanics are tight. Cylinder scene is a light .15%, you can make out matching serial #. Cylinder has a little play. Has an original 8" barrel with Colt's one-line barrel address, thinning a little. Original wood grips have typical wear are very good, light worn cartouche on both sides. Strong Colt's patent marking on left side of frame. Metal overall is a brown-grey patina finish. Iron backstrap, brass triggerguard, cut for shoulder stock.
