Colt Lightning model 1877, "Sheriff's model with no ejector housing, serial #96552 matching, 1894 manufacture, 6-shot. Bright, shiny crisply rifled 3.5" fine+ bore. Metal shows .50% vivid rainbow hues with remainder turning mottled grey. Top of barrel with 2-line Colt markings are very clear and distinct, in addition to left side of barrel with vivid etched panel "COLT. D.A. 38". Left side of frame with clear 3-line patent dates and Colt rampart. Mechanics are crisp and tight in both DA & SA. The grips have sharp checkering and exhibit only slight wear on risen areas. Nitre blue on hammer and screw heads in triggerguard. .40% overall deep blue, mostly on triggerguard and backstrap. These "Sheriff" model Colt's have always been highly collectible, fine overall, much better than average.
